The Deleinquent Blogger

Hey there folks~
So sorry to have been gone so long... I have been a very bad blogger these last months! And I surely didn't mean to worry any of my you by my absence. I have been so, so busy living life- that I haven't had the time (or energy) to blog about it! LOL. And you know how it is- when you get yourself out of a routine- it makes it that much harder to jump back into it.
One good thing is; that when I have long periods of time where I do not blog- it usually means that I am busy being productive in other areas of my life. I find that I create a whole lot more physical art, do more for my family and home; as well as nurture my spiritual side a whole lot more.
So grab your cuppa coffee, and let's catch up. So much is happening in my life right now (as always!)- most of it absolutely awesome... and some of it is tinged with a touch of un-awesomeness. But isn't that just the way life goes?

I will start with the great stuff... since that is what I like to focus on anyways.

Spring has sprung, and Mama Nature is in full force down here in So-Cal-- it's all I can do to keep up with the yardwork, gardening & Spring Cleaning chores. I have been trimming the trees, weeding the weeds & digging the flower and vegetable plots (both old & new) just as fast as I can.
I have a post that goes into more detail, and has lots of photos of the garden- as it was getting started 2 months ago- and the current pics. I will be very excited once the vege seedlings get out of their straggly stages and burst forth with their full bounty. Untill then, I have been taking pics of the gorgeous flowers and herbs instead.
On the Family front...
The Kids and I are doing well. We had a lovely Ostara and Beltaine. Jeremiah FINALLY lost his first tooth- quickly followed by a second. Both Kids are doing well in school- and cannot wait for Summer. Our cat Sadie had a litter of kittens- and the kids love to visit with the new babies. And of course, as usual- I have a housefull of 'extra' kids every day, over to play. Never a dull moment.
A bit of exciting news...
I was recently contacted by my Mother's Sister (my Aunt) who has been searching for her for several years, and found her through my Family Tree project on Ancestry.com. It turns out that my Mom has 2 'new' sisters, a brother, and a gazillion cousins, neices, nephews, etc. that have all been living in our area for the past 40 something years. Go figure!

So the kids and I went down to San Diego to meet these wonderful new Family members- and had an absolute ball!

Here we are at Legoland, and then out on their boat for a harbor cruz, We were welcomed and spoiled by them to no end! And can this Lady cook!?! She fed us like kings. And topped it off by giving us copies of a Family Cookbook that she compiled and published.

Ok... now for the bit of bad news... and one of the main reasons that I just haven't had the heart to blog or play on the computer with all of you all lately...
... is that my sweet Dad was discovered to have a cancerous growth on the top of his head. YIKES! Thankfully, they think they caught it in time to save it from spreading to his skull, brain, and the rest of his body- and they have already operated, and he is in recovery. It has been a very scary couple of months none-the-less; and a very trying time for him (obviously!), as well as our whole family. But I know my Dad is a tough ol' bear- and just like me- it takes a helluva lot more to knock us down! I know (& pray) that he will make it thru this; and live to a ripe old age to tell my Grandkids about it. Gods willing.

Alrighty folks- you know I could go on & on... but I have to go get the kiddos to school now anyways. I hope all is well in your world and that you & yours are enjoying your Spring.
Take care.
